Dear Nonnie Friend,

Why did devout Christian English people living in a small village in America suddenly turn on each other in 1692, accusing their neighbors of witchcraft, and even killing them? Why should we care in 2025?

Salem is a wonderfully complicated subject, so I’m planning a short online talk that will entice you to want to know more. And no, it wasn’t all about poisoned grain. And, Brits, these people were English: One accused “witch” was from Great Yarmouth, enough said.

Americans? No matter what you think you know, get ready to be amazed. We’re not just going to talk about what happened, but WHY it happened.
